Founded in 1989 at the initiative of passionate beekeepers, the ACANB’s primary mission
is to preserve the genetic heritage of the Black Bee’s Breton ecotype. The aim is to produce
a sufficient number of queens and swarms to maintain a constant number of active hives
on the island, ensuring long-term honey production, and to reintroduce the Black Bee to the
continent in different biotopes in order to produce new honeys likely to have a biological
activity of interest. Ouessant Island has thus become a real open-sky laboratory that attracts

It all began with a discovery by Guerlain Research: skin micro-tears.
Guerlain has demonstrated that skin micro-tears are responsible for wrinkles and loss of
firmness, in other words, skin that does not heal from within is skin that will age faster. In
their search for the best natural healing substances, researchers studied bee products and
discovered that they had as yet unknown cosmetic properties, formulating a unique and
