Industry Insights Help Shape Kingdom's First Health Beauty Industry Exhibition 1

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 22 October 2014:

Saudi Arabia’s first Health & Beauty industry exhibition which launches next month is set to provide an essential gateway for beauty and wellbeing brands to reach customers and enter this lucrative market. Saudi Arabia is the GCC’s largest health and beauty spend per capita at US$3,800 a year and the sector adds US$17bn annually to the Kingdom’s economy.

In order to engage the community, Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions, organiser of Saudi Health & Beauty, invited over 20 industry leaders to consider emerging trends and challenges in Saudi Arabia and its global competitiveness. International and regional brands contributed to the debate including Sephora, Eric Zamour, Le Medi Spa, Yves Rocher, Mohamed Bazawir Trading, Panda cosmetics Department, Park Hyatt Spa and Soliman Fakeeh Hospital.

While confirming the need for a health and beauty focused event in the Kingdom and endorsing the format of bringing together professionals and consumers, the industry group highlighted the need for more comprehensive product information and demonstration to educate consumers on the different types of products, their application and efficacy.

Commenting on industry requirements, group member Mustafa Al Baroudi, a Saudi based beauty expert said “In Saudi the industry focus is no longer limited to products – the quality of service and information plays a vital part in the consumer journey. We, as an industry, should pay close attention to presenting the right information from the exact sources”.

John Hooke-Tappin, Show Director at Reed Sunaidi said “The insights gained will help shape Saudi Health & Beauty, particularly in terms of the dynamic activity, live demonstrations and workshops taking place during the show. Our aim is to play a leading role in developing the landscape of this valuable sector which is not only one of the most important in region, but is also attracting significant interest. This in turn will bring inward investment from international brands together with innovation, talent, and increase in competitiveness and job opportunities”.

The event will feature the first Saudi Health & Beauty Forum, a unique platform for industry professionals to acquire knowledge, best practice insight and emerging trends from sector leaders.

John Hooke-Tappin added “The beauty and wellbeing market is made up of over 50,000 organisations and the growing population in Saudi want more choice in their own local market. Research shows that only 1% of the Saudi market attends other leading beauty events in the region and we are delighted that this inaugural exhibition will host nearly 120 local and international brands. We expect many of these to use this platform to educate and engage consumers through live demonstrations, showcases and conferences for consumers and professionals”.

Saudi Health & Beauty will take place at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events from 24-27 November 2014. It is supported by interCHARM, the leading European event for professional cosmetics and equipment industries.
