Dubai Courts DG unveils state-of-the-art electronic operating room for implementation of provisions
New procedures will contribute to timely and accurate disposition of cases
Dubai: H.E. Judge Taresh Eid Al-Mansouri, Director-General of Dubai Courts has yesterday announced the launch of a unique Operating Room for Implementation of Provisions, also known as ORIP, electronically linked to the local authorities in Dubai. The OP aims to implement the judges’ decisions related to detentions and travel bans, along with other orders upon issuance.
A press conference was held to launch the ORIP, which was attended by Judge Jassem Baqer, Head of the Court of First Instance, and execution judges, along with directors of departments at Dubai Courts.
During the launch event, Judge Taresh Eid Al-Mansouri outlined that this imperative step was made in fulfilment of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed is extremely keen on the timely and accurate disposition of cases, he said.
Judge Al-Mansouri also stated that the initiative is first of its kind and will dramatically reduce the time required to implement the provisions of the court. This will also assist in achieving Dubai Courts’ aim of reaching a high level of satisfaction for its customers.
“What we care about in the first place is the customer, and that every litigant receives equal rights under the law,” stressed Al-Mansouri.
He added that the OP will include systems of Dubai Police Force (General Department of Criminal Investigation), Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Land Department, and Department of Economic Development. The Dubai Courts calls on the rest of the ministries, departments and institutions to join the system of the Operating Room for Implementation of Provisions.
The Director-General of Dubai Courts explained that the Operating Room for Implementation of Provisions will be linked to the local authorities via electronic systems. This system will grant full access to staff to enter the judge’s immediate decision against an enforcee (or judgment debtor), whether by seizure or cancellation. Such processes were previously time consuming due to routine correspondence and responses. Now anything required in this respect will be completed via the room’s electronic system in record time. For example, seizure or habeas corpus, and other judgments and orders, will be appended to the new system, and the decision issued by the judge will be immediately transferred to the competent authorities.
