Atlantis, The Palm’s ShuiQi Spa & Fitness Centre officially opens, wowing guests with state of the art refurbishment
Featuring Technogym’s exclusive range, ARTIS,
the first of it’s kind in the Middle East and Africa
Dubai: Atlantis, The Palm’s award-winning ShuiQi Spa & Fitness Centre officially announced the opening of it’s state of the art refurbishment. Featuring Technogym’s latest range, ARTIS, the first of it’s kind in the Middle East and Africa, the new ShuiQi Spa & Fitness Centre features exceptional design derived from the simplicity of fine lines.
As they arrived, visitors to the brand new wellness centre entered a space that reveals it’s very own philosophy based on objects, shape, light and texture, with a focal point that starts from the back lit flooring design to the end of the feature wall.An approach that focuses on earthy materials to shape the space and ensure a dynamic environment, the key design focus of the new ShuiQi Fitness centre is on form and practicality, combined with minimalism and functionality to create a seamless, open, yet personal space, with tremendous natural light to motivate and inspire.
With every aspect carefully considered to ensure the human body is functioning at it’s optimum best, the new ShuiQi Spa & Fitness Centre features a circular core, to create fluidity in space which interacts with the human body, acting as a kind of lens, to ensure that uplifting energy, intensified by the circular design, is absorbed by the body from the environment.
An emphasis on natural materials including wood and stone has also been used, with the knowledge that not only is the human body more responsive towards natural elements, but such materials are beneficial to the environment in which we to work out in.
The newly refurbished ‘Wellness’ Centre at ShuiQi Spa & Fitness features Technogym’s exclusive ARTIS range, the first integrated collection of cardio, strength and functional equipment in the region. The exclusive ARTIS, the first of it’s kind in Dubai, comprises of a complete cardio line (Treadmill, Elliptical, Vario, Bike and Recline), strength pieces and functional stations.
Two zones focus on functional training, including ‘OMNIA’, a group functional training space, a brand new concept to Dubai, and a ‘KINESIS’ zone, which incorporates functional equipment that activates the complete kinetic chains, rather than individual muscles, the remaining zones cover cardio, strength, flexibility and free weights.
Created by experts in the field, including a collaboration with Loughborough University, The ARTIS range is light years ahead of contemporary products, both in design, biomechanical engineering and interactive technology, offering cutting edge sports technology in connectivity, sustainability, design and movement feeling, including a fully integrated platform of interconnected products, services, content and programmes that allow ShuiQi Spa and Fitness staff to manage guests Wellness lifestyles wherever they are, both in and out of the Fitness Centre. The open platform clubs also offer guests “Wellness on the Go” by connecting with them anywhere in world via the mywellness key, mobile phones, tablets, smart TV, or PCs.
Connectivity: The new line boasts the brand new open-platform, Android based UNITY interface. UNITY provides operators with access to a limitless number of Android-compatible apps, all available via the Technogym App Store. For end-users, UNITY gives them the ability to create a personalised personal platform of training programmes, training data records, web bookmarks and social networks etc. It is the only console in the wellness and fitness field fitted with a web cam, allowing users to make video calls with their trainer or their favourite contacts during their workout.
Sustainability: ARTIS is the world’s leading collection of environmentally friendly equipment. Its unique patent pending technology enables the machines to reduce energy consumption – a new brushless motor reduces the treadmill’s energy consumption by 30% – and recycle energy generated by movement to power the displays. Human energy produced during exercise can also be fed back in to the building’s energy grid to help power the gym.
Design: As the first fully integrated collection of 30 cardio, strength and functional products, the unprecedented ARTIS range boasts seamless design and frameless geometry that captures the senses and offers end-users an attractive and welcoming atmosphere.
Moving feeling: Developed by the Technogym Village Scientific Research Department and independently reviewed and certified by the Loughborough University Sport Technology Institute, ARTIS respects the highest ergonomic and biomechanical standards. The treadmill surface has been developed to enhance a natural gait at any speed, while the interactive screen has been carefully positioned for maximum ergonomic effect, allowing ease of use without compromising exercise.
