Prestigious London College of Fashion Expands Dubai Short Courses for 2013

Tutors Include Celebrity Make-Up Artist, Former Design Director of Iconic Brit Label Hackett, and Best Selling Author

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – In response to high demand, the prestigious UK based fashion college, London College of Fashion (LCF) is returning to the Middle East between the 27th January to the 5th February 2013 to host a series of Short Courses featuring high-profile and expert tutors.

LCF will be hosting a total of 9 courses – taught by leaders in the world of fashion education – including ‘Fashion Design 2’ which provides a rare opportunity for students to work directly on the mannequin, a technique often used by European couture houses.

Another coup for Middle East based students will be the arrival of Sanjeev Davidson who will deliver ‘Creativity in Fashion Branding’ for the first time in Dubai. Sanjeev spent the last three years at Hackett as the design director and now combines consulting to fashion businesses globally with lecturing at London College of Fashion in the UK, Argentina, Malaysia and China.

LCF will also offer for the first time the 2 day ‘Make-up Workshop’ course, which will be taught by international celebrity makeup artist Lucy Wearing, who has worked with some of the world’s top magazines including Vogue and Elle as well as celebrities including singers Ellie Goulding and M.I.A.

“The Middle East and Dubai in particular is witnessing strong growth in the fashion field. We work with the highest calibre tutors to provide the tools needed for people in the region to develop their knowledge across fashion’s key platforms including design, branding, merchandising and business start up,” said Linda Roberts, Senior Business Manger, London College of Fashion.

High profile tutors for LCF include international bestselling author of ‘How to Set up & Run a Fashion Label,’ Toby Meadows who will be offering start up consultancies, and celebrity fashion stylist Polly Holman will help train the region’s budding fashion stylists.

Being held at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, the courses have been designed for those seeking international standards of tuition from lecturers who are all practicing London fashion professionals.

LCF aims to support the development of the fashion industry in the Middle East and has designed the courses to offer something to both professionals already within these fields or people who are interested in beginning their career in fashion. LCF has held six short course programmes in the Middle East since 2010 due to the increased demand from both local and expat residents.

The 9 LCF courses and consultancy sessions on offer for the January / February 2013 programme cover the full spectrum of fashion education:

•              Fashion design 2
