Candelite Spreads Festive Cheer at Deserving Work Spaces

Dubai-UAE – In keeping with the spirit of spreading holiday cheer and as part of its ongoing efforts to engage with the community Candelite, a leading confectionery and snacks concept, joined hands with the Radio 2 show Breakfast with Kenny & Accalia for the ‘Office Ambush’ radio competition. The competition which took place in the first week of December encouraged listeners to nominate through a text message an office or work place in Dubai that they believed deserved a special surprise delivery of Candy Cakes, London’s favourite cupcakes.

Donna Van Der Merwe from Safe Center for Exceptional Abilities and Jenny Eastaugh from Welcare Hospital’s Neonatal ICU unit voted in their respective workplaces, pointing out that the philanthropic departments were worthy contenders for the fun prize during the season of gifting for their selfless work that requires patience and fortitude on a daily basis.

Hamza Koya and Rohit Wadhawan from Candelite’s Marketing department joined the team from Radio 2 to deliver two delightful batches of cupcakes to the lucky winners. On 12 December the first batch of 100 cupcakes was gifted to the remarkable care-givers at Safe Center for Exceptional Abilities, a special-care centre for children and young adults with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. On 19 December, a second batch of 100 cupcakes was handed over to Welcare Hospital’s Neonatal ICU Unit, one of the largest level three NICU facilities in the UAE where newborns are dependent on high technology equipment such as breathing and feeding tubes to survive.
